2018 LENTEN SERVICES Lent is the time when Christians focus their attention on all that Jesus did to redeem us. When we see his great sacrificial love for us sinners, we can’t help but respond. Our Lenten messages this year focus on the theme: “Jesus Christ is Our High Priest”
- Wednesday, March 7 Worship at 1:30 & 6:30 P.M. Jesus is our Perfect High Priest – Pastor Schupmann
- Wednesday, March 14 Worship at 1:30 & 6:30 P.M. Jesus is our Compassionate High Priest – Pastor Brandt
- Wednesday, March 21 Worship at 1:30 & 6:30 P.M. Jesus is our Self-Sacrificing High Priest – Pastor Vander Galien
What a wonderful opportunity for all of us to focus on Jesus Christ in his atoning work on the cross. What a wonderful way for all of us to appreciate more clearly the tremendous love Jesus has for us and all people. Plan to be here each Wednesday at 1:30 or 6:30 P.M. Why not also invite someone who is unchurched to join you for these special services.
LENTEN SUPPERS! Once again this year there will be a light supper in our church basement before our 6:30 services provided by some of our church organizations. It will run from 5:15-6:00 P.M. each Wednesday during Lent. We hope that this will make it easier for our busy families to come for these special worship services as well as give many of us another opportunity to enjoy Christian fellowship with one another.
LAKESIDE A CAPPELLA CHOIR will be here in all services today. We will have a door offering to help with their expenses. Thank you for adding to our worship!
Different Voice and Face in the Church Office After more than 35 years of serving our Lord and us as our church office Secretaries, June Koltz and Shirley Dinsch have retired. Thanks be to God and to them for their faithful service these many years! Some Sunday in the next few weeks there will be a time for public recognition and a chance to thank June and Shirley for their service. Anna Gensmer has assumed the office duties as of March 1. Don’t be surprised to hear her voice or to see her face when calling or stopping in the office. Please show her the same Christian love, respect, and patience shown June and Shirley the last 35+ years.
