  • Please let us know you worshiped with us by signing our guest book in the entryway or a “Care Card” in your pew and drop it in the offering basket.
  • If visiting, please don’t feel obligated to give an offering. St. Stephen’s members express thankfulness to God through their voluntary offerings which then support the congregation’s work.

Holy Communion will be offered today, Sunday, March 11th, in all services. You may register by card at any time.

Funerals Norbert Krueger (77) and Ruth Krueger (72) died, February 25, 2018.  Graveside service will be held later this spring.  Pearl Larson (81) died, March 1, 2018.  Funeral was conducted March, 6, 2018.

Memorials In memory of Arnie Shimming Jr.: $20 for the Window/Restoration Fund given by Donna Ohrmundt.  In memory of Ellie Schoeffel: $320 for the General Fund given by relatives and friends.  In memory of Carl Uttech, $200 for the radio fund given by Ethel Uttech.

Bible Studies
The Monday/Wednesday Bible Study This study group begins a study of “Who am I?”.

  • Men’s Sunday Night Bible Study meets Sunday evenings. We continue our study of Romans.
  • Women’s Bible Study Group, meets on Tuesdays in Lent at 6 PM. Copies of the study are available in the church entry and at our study time.
  • Sunday Bible Class meets Sunday at 9:00 A.M. We continue our study of the book of Ephesians.

OWLS On Tuesday, March 13th, the OWLS will hold its first meeting of 2018 with a noon potluck in the church basement. The program will begin at 1:00 P.M. and will feature a musical program by some of the students of our school. All members of St. Stephen’s are welcome to attend. Remaining programs for the year include:

  • May 8th: A presentation on bees and honey
  • September 11th: A seminary student from the Ukraine will speak on mission work in that country.
  • November 13th: James Moeller, from Watertown, shares “How to Tell Your Story”, a legacy you create for family and friends.

Church Decorators   Volunteers are needed to decorate for Palm Sunday – Holy Week – Easter.  Times are:

  • Saturday, March 24th, 9:00 A.M. (15 needed)
  • Sunday, March 25th, 11:30 A.M (10 needed)
  • Saturday, March 31st,9:00 AM (15 needed)
  • Sunday, April 8th, 11:30 A.M. (Takedown, 15 needed)

2018 Lenten Services Our Lenten messages this year focus on the theme: “Jesus Christ is Our High Priest”

  • Wednesday, March 14 Worship at 1:30 & 6:30 P.M.

  • Wednesday, March 21 Worship at 1:30 & 6:30 P.M.
    Jesus is our Self-Sacrificing High Priest – Pastor Vander Galien

What a wonderful opportunity for all of us to focus on Jesus Christ in his atoning work on the cross.

Plan to be here each Wednesday at 1:30 or 6:30 P.M. Why not also invite someone who is unchurched to join you for these special services.  Lenten Suppers Once again this year there will be a light supper in our church basement before our 6:30 services provided by some of our church organizations. It will run from 5:15-6:00 P.M. each Wednesday during Lent.

Easter Breakfast  Matt and Lindsay Wietzke have consented to take charge of our Annual Easter Breakfast. Donations and baked goods such as sweet rolls, coffee cake, doughnuts, etc. can be brought on Saturday, March 31, from 10:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. The Church Council has asked the 8th grade students and parents to help with set-up, serving, and cleanup. Additional volunteers may be needed. If you are willing to help with the Easter Breakfast, please sign your name and phone number on the sign-up sheet on the table in the entry. Breakfast will be served continuously from 7:00-10:30 A.M.

Easter Lilies Sign-up sheet for donated Easter lilies has been placed on the back table.  Please have lilies here by 9am on March 31st.

Bus Trip / Basketball Game  A donor has made available 40 tickets to the Milwaukee Bucks vs. Los Angeles Clippers game on March 21.  A bus is being arranged for this fellowship activity.  If you would like to attend, sign up today!  Your only cost is the bus fare ($25) and whatever high-priced beverage, hot dogs, or nachos you purchase at the Bradley Center!  Thank you to our anonymous donor for making this fellowship opportunity possible!

Thrivent Choice Program  On March 5th the Church received a Thrivent  gift for the Window Fund was $267.  Thank you to St. Stephen’s members/Thrivent clients who designated St. Stephen’s Church for Choice Dollars.

Special Voters’ Call Meeting  With Mr. Brennan accepting the Lord’s call to Grace Lutheran Church & School in Oshkosh, our Board of Education and Church Council are recommending the calling of a Principal / Upper Grades teacher to replace him.  Their recommendation is to call from the WELS “field” from a list of candidates provided by WELS Commission on Lutheran Schools through our District President. This call meeting has been set for Sunday, March 18 at 11:30 A.M.
