Welcome Visitors If you are visiting today, we welcome you in our Risen and Living Savior, Jesus!

  • Please let us know you worshiped with us by signing our guest book in the entryway or a Care Card in your pew and drop it in the offering basket.
  • If visiting, please don’t feel obligated to give an offering. St. Stephen’s members express thankfulness to God through their voluntary offerings which then support the congregation’s work.
  • Introduce yourself to a Pastor, and worship with us again!

Holy Communion will be offered next week in all services. You may register by card at any time.

Memorials In memory of Carol Nelson, a gift of $200 has been given to the building & debt fund, a gift of $150 to the Neuendorf Scholarship fund, a gift of $100 to the general fund, a gift of $25 to the Altar Guild,and a gift of $25 to the Ladies Aid from Marcus & Laurie Paul. 

Funeral Carol Wolc was called home to heaven on March 30, 2019, age 80.  Her funeral was conducted this last week.  Joyce Dummer was called home to heaven on April 3, 2019, age 88.  Her funeral will be conducted April 9th.

Easter Lilies A sign-up sheet for donated Easter lilies has been placed on the back table.  Please have lilies here by 9am on April 20th.  Lilies are able to be picked up after the 10:30 service on April 28th.   

Bible Studies

  • Men’s Sunday Night meets Sunday nights at 6:30pm in the meeting room above church office.
  • Women’s Bible Study Group meets on Tuesday nights during lent at 6pm. Copies of the study are available in the church entry and at study time.
  • Monday/Wednesday Bible Study meets on Monday’s at 7pm and Wednesday mornings at 11am.  This session is a study focused on 1 & 2 Peter

Church Decorators   Volunteers are needed to decorate for
Palm Sunday, Holy Week, & Easter.  15-20 people needed
Times are:

  • Saturday, April 13th, 9:00am – Put Up Palms
  • Sunday, April 14th, 11:30am – Put Away Palms
  • Saturday, April 20th,  9:00am –Put Up Window & Lily Cross
  • Sunday, April 28th,  11:30am –Put Away Decorations

Lenten Midweek Services “Three Words of Truth” is the theme of our midweek worship for the 2019 Lenten Season. Worship services will be at 1:30 and 6:30pm.

LENTEN SUPPERS!  Once again this year there will be a light supper in our church basement before our 6:30 services provided by some of our church organizations. This week our Elders will be hosting a beef stew supper. Serving time will run from 5:15-6:00pm.

PTS Awards Night Correction PTS will be on Monday, May 13th at 6:30pm.  The evening will have snacks, a Jr. Choir performance, and recognition of our students and their accomplishments throughout the year.  All are invited to this evening.

Health Ministry: Our congregation health ministry team will also be available to provide blood pressure and diabetes screening, as well as other health literature this Sunday from 8:30 – 10:30am. in the church basement.

Publications The April issue of “Forward in Christ” is available in the entryway of church.

Family Swim Night PTS and Lutheran Explorers invite all members of the St. Stephens and Good Shepherd parishes to a Family Swim Night Friday, April 12 at the YMCA of Dodge County starting at 6:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM. The pool and gym will be available for our usage. There will be a $3 fee for any non YMCA member using the pool or gym. Cookies and juice will be provided around 7:45 to all participants. This is a great fellowship opportunity to show others how amazing our school is, so feel free to invite some friends. Hope to see you there. Easter Breakfast Matt and Lindsay Wietzke have consented to take lead of our Annual Easter Breakfast. Donations and baked goods such as sweet rolls, coffee cake, doughnuts, etc. can be brought on Saturday, April 20th, from 10:00am -1:00pm. The Church Council has asked the 7th & 8th grade students and parents to help with set-up, serving, and cleanup. Additional volunteers may be needed. If you are willing to help with the Easter Breakfast, please sign your name and phone number on the sign-up sheet on the table in the entry. Breakfast will be served continuously from 7:00-10:30 A.M.  

Cards for sale The church bookstore has a variety of Christian cards for birthdays, sympathy, weddings, and many other of life’s occasions that are for sale.  We also have Easter cards to send to loved ones.  Stop by Monday through Friday from 8-12pm and 12:30-4 pm and enjoy browsing through our extensive selection.  Cards sell for $0.50 each.

OWLS Meeting April 9 is the next meeting of St. Stephens OWLS which begins with a potluck at noon.  Special guest, Sara Zondag, will present a program at 1 p.m. telling of her work in Thailand and Burma where she has spent the past several years.  She is involved with Thai Village where native artisans produce many unique and colorful handcrafted items.  Many of these items will be on display and offered for sale. Sara is the daughter of Barb and Dick Zondag of Randolph.   Please join us at this special event and learn more about one of our WELS mission fields.

Spring Cleaning?? Twice Is Nice in Jefferson will accept donations of clothing, household items, toys, books, dishes, etc. All these donations help to benefit Lakeside Lutheran High School. You may bring these items to the church office. Volunteers take them to the store.
