Twice Is Nice in Jefferson is again accepting donations of clothing, household items, toys, books, dishes, etc. All donations help to benefit Lakeside Lutheran High School. Items may be brought to the church office and volunteers take them to the store. If you would like to shop or volunteer at Twice Is Nice the address is 907 W. Racine St., Jefferson, WI or call them at (920)674-6868.
We now have online giving. Go to www.ssbdwels.com and click on “Online Giving.” You will have to create an account with links to your financial institution. You can specify a dollar amount and give a one-time gift, or recurring gift: weekly, biweekly, monthly, etc. There are over 85 families that now use online giving! Join us today!
Upcoming Events August 30 will be a big day here at St. Stephen’s. Branches Band will join us for worship. Our new teachers will be installed. We will also have our joint picnic with Good Shepherd at Lakeview Park. We look forward to this being a joyous day for all involved.
VBS Thank you! To all the volunteers who donated their time and talents this last week at VBS. Our congregation is so blessed to be able to outreach this way and a huge thank you to the people who donated time, money, supplies, and prayers. We had over 55 children attend this year. For the members who put signs up in their yards, please return to the office during office hours or bring to church and leave where you picked them up.
Publications The August issue of “Forward in Christ” is available in the entryway of church.
School News Registration dates are August 16, 8:30-12:00 and August 17, 5-7. Please watch for updates as to how this will be handled. The Covid-19 pandemic will dictate how we plan to do registration. If you cannot make one of these days, please contact us and we will set up a time for you to register your child.

Bible Study Opportunity coming soon! September 14 and 16 will begin our fall Bible study schedule. We will resume our study of the Gospel of John. We plan to make use of streaming video options for our Bible study. To be part of our “live studio audience,” join us Mondays at 7:00pm (Facebook) and Wednesdays at 11:00am (Youtube). In August and early September, Pastor Stratman plans to revisit the first seven chapters of John and make it available on Facebook and Youtube for those who want to review, or those who haven’t attended and want to catch up and join the study in person or online.
Girls Volleyball Camp: Girls entering grades 4th-8th are invited to attend our volleyball camp, free of charge, to help you prepare for the upcoming volleyball season. The camp will run August 10th-13th during the following times:
4th-6th graders 5:30PM-7:00PM
7th-8th graders 7:00PM-8:30PM

- We will offer the Sacrament of Holy Communion in each service, giving everyone the opportunity to partake
- People will be ushered up on the lectern side first, then the pulpit side, so that we have only one line.
- We will serve by continuous distribution to help with distancing.
- Those who do not wish to commune or are not comfortable communing at this time will be free not to do so, with absolutely no stigma.
- Those who are distributing the Sacrament will clean their hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer immediately before distribution.
- Communicants will receive the wafer in an open palm.
- The common cup will not be used for a time.
Individual cups will be spaced out in the trays
