Funeral   Charles Cook was called home to heaven on July 26, 2018, age 47.  His funeral was conducted on August 1, 2018.

Publications  The latest issue of “Forward in Christ”  is available in the entryway of church.

Bible Studies

  • Men’s Sunday Night is in recess through August. Study will resume September 9 at 6:30pm.
  • Women’s Bible Study Group meets on Wednesday nights at 6pm. Copies of the study are available in the church entry and at study time.
  • Sunday Bible Class Our summer study series is: Timely Topics: Timeless Truths. Class is in the church basement from 8:45-9:15am.

Handbells The handbell choir will resume on Wednesday, September 12th and is in need of a few new members.  Practices are on Wednesday nights at 7:15pm in the church balcony.  We play in church once a month, at Advent by Candlelight, and occasionally for other functions and special services.  Experience with handbells is not needed.  Please call Ranee Welch and leave a message if you are interested or have any questions at 887-1624

Church Picnic St. Stephen’s and Good Shepherd will be having a combined church picnic August 26th at Lakeview Park.  A noon lunch has been planned with place settings, brats and hot dogs, beverage, and dessert provided.  Please make plans to join us for an afternoon of Christian fellowship.  Special guests, our new 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Krebs and family, and our new 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Vanderhoof and family.

Volunteer Opportunity: Dodge County’s Human Services are looking for volunteers to help with their meals on wheels program.  Delivery days would be Tuesday, Thursdays, and Fridays.  Meal delivery is expected to take under an hour.  Please call Amy at 920-386-3583 with any questions or to help serve our neighbors.

WELS Wind Ensemble will be performing one more time this summer at the following location:

  • Sunday, August 12 -4 pm
    Swan Park Band Shell, Beaver Dam (bad weather-Good Shepherd Lutheran) includes a hot dog supper and dessert.

Volleyball Camp  Girls entering 4th-8th grade interested in volleyball this year are invited to attend our volleyball camp running August 6th-9th. We will have two sessions; 4th-6th grade 5:30 pm-7:00 pm and 7th-8th graders 7:00 pm-8:30 pm in the gym. Hope to see you there!

WELS Informational Booth will again be operated at the Dodge County Fair, August 15-19. Volunteers are needed to staff the booth and to visit with “stoppers-by”.  A sign-up chart is on the entryway table.  Different this year, 3 hour shifts due to fewer volunteers the last couple years.  A volunteer orientation meeting will be held Sunday, August 12, 6:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd.

Vacation Bible School Thank You to all the volunteers who donated their time and talents this last week at VBS.  Our congregation is so blessed to be able to outreach this way and a huge thank you to the people who donated time, money, supplies, and prayers.  We had over 58 children attend this year.

Cards for sale The church bookstore has a variety of Christian cards for birthdays, sympathy, weddings, and many other of life’s occasions that are for sale.   Stop by the church office Monday to Thursday (8-12pm, 12:30-4 pm) or Friday (7:30am to 1pm) and enjoy browsing through our extensive selection.  Cards sell for $0.50 each. For the rest of July and the month of August, cards will be buy 2, get 1 free!
