Welcome Visitors If you are visiting today, we welcome you in our Risen and Living Savior, Jesus!

  • Please let us know you worshiped with us by signing our guest book in the entryway or a Care Card in your pew and drop it in the offering basket.
  • If visiting, please don’t feel obligated to give an offering. St. Stephen’s members express thankfulness to God through their voluntary offerings which then support the congregation’s work.
  • Introduce yourself to a Pastor, and worship with us again!

Holy Communion will be offered next week in all services. You may register by card at any time.

               Gospel Outreach Opportunities This Summer

Be a greeter in the WELS Info Booth at the Dodge County Fair!

The fair runs August 14-18 this year.  Spend a couple hours at the booth with fellow believers to greet passers-by and to share Christian literature and information about our area WELS churches. You don’t have to be a doctor of theology, just a smiling believer who can say, “Jesus takes my sins away and will take me to heaven someday!” A schedule/sign-up sheet is on the entryway table, along with a “tip sheet” for volunteers in case you have questions.

Summer Bible Class Schedule

July 28th            Psalm 51

August 4th        Psalm 103

August 11th      Psalm 110

August 18th      Psalm 139

Helping Hands-Our 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Erin Krebs and family, have been blessed with the opportunity to buy a home here in Beaver Dam and they are looking for some help moving.  If you are able to help on July 31 at 2 pm, please meet at 155 S Wisconsin St. in Lowell.  Any questions, give Erin or Mike a call at 920-319-2002.

Volleyball Camp  Girls entering 4th-8th grade interested in volleyball this year are invited to attend our volleyball camp running August 12th-16th. We will have two sessions; 4th-6th grade 5:30 pm-7:00 pm and 7th-8th graders 7:00 pm-8:30 pm in the gym. Any questions can be directed to Mr Schmidt at jschmidt@saintstephens.org.

Membership Changes acted upon in July:

Open Gym Opportunities at St. Stephen’s there will once again be an open gym this summer for all 3rd -8th graders in the congregation/school. It is held every Tuesday evening from 5:30-7:00 from June 18th-August 6th. This week the focus will be on volleyball.   July 30th , the focus will be on basketball.  We hope you can join us this summer!

Voters’ Meeting Summary – Last Sunday 35 voting members met for their quarterly meeting.  Reports were given by our Boards and the Pastors.
-Pastors reported on ministry and membership over the last quarter.
-Board of Education reported on faculty changes and on plans for the upcoming school year.  Anticipated school enrollment is 105-110.

-Board of Property Maintenance reported on their work caring for our properties; major current issue is the ramp wall water damage.

-Financial report showed us through half the year to be $38,000 short in General Fund receipts versus expenses; $18,000 behind in meeting our goal/commitment for WELS Mission/Ministry; $4,000 behind meeting our goal/commitment for Lakeside Lutheran HS.

NEW BUSINESS item was the proposal to use a Unified Budget for our finances beginning in 2020.  Due to the concern that this concept perhaps hadn’t been well enough explained to the entire membership, the meeting was “recessed” to be reconvened Sunday, August 4 at 10:45 A.M., at which time a  vote on the proposal will take place.  Printed information on the unified budget concept is being made available.  Please ask questions of our Church Council members if you have them, and share your  thoughts with them.  Voting members, please attend!

A special door offering will be taken on the weekend of July 28 for the WELS booth at the Dodge County Fair. Every year the churches from our county help spread the good news of Jesus to those who come to the fair. Various expenses such as  space rental, prizes, and promotional materials are shared. Please consider helping as we help spread the love of Jesus!

Vacation Bible School Our Vacation Bible School is right around the corner. We will open our doors to tell the good news of Jesus to children from
age 3-6th grade on July 29-August 2, from 9:00 AM-11:30 AM. We need volunteers to help with this event. We need leaders to take groups of students around to classes, help with donating snacks, and most importantly spreading the word. On the table in the back are various sign-up sheets and promotional materials. Invite your neighbors and friends to come and learn about Jesus through song, story, crafts, and other activities.

Summer Picnic Mark your calendars for August 25th for the annual church picnic.  This year we will be welcoming 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Krebs, and new upper grade teacher, Mrs. Boll, and 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Brace.
