Welcome Visitors If you are visiting today, we welcome you in our Risen and Living Savior, Jesus!

  • Please let us know you worshiped with us by signing our guest book in the entryway or a “Care Card” in your pew and drop it in the offering basket.
  • If visiting, please don’t feel obligated to give an offering. St. Stephen’s members express thankfulness to God through their voluntary offerings which then support the congregation’s work.
  • Introduce yourself to a Pastor, and worship with us again!

Holy Communion will be offered today in all services. You may register by card at any time or register in person in the sacristy. We ask all guests to please speak with a pastor before communing.

Funeral Mrs. Agnes Schulz died May 8, 2018, age 104.  Her funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at David’s Star Lutheran Church in Jackson, WI.  Visitation will be from 1pm until time of service at 3pm.

New Member Welcome  Kathy Peetoom will be received as a new member this morning in the 9am service.

Bible Studies

  • The Monday/Wednesday Bible Study This study group has begun a study of “Who am I?” a study of our Christian identity.
  • Men’s Sunday Night Bible Study meets Sunday evenings. We continue our study of Romans.
  • Women’s Bible Study Group meets on Wednesdays. Copies of the study are available in the church entry and at study time.
  • Sunday Bible Class meets on Sunday’s at 9:00am. We continue our study of the book of Philippians.

MLC Wind Symphony will be at St. Stephen’s on Thursday, May 17th at 1 pm to give a concert to our Christian day school children.  All are welcome to come and hear this wonderful group displaying God’s talents.

Six Flags Trip Teens will have a trip to Six Flags on June 20. The cost for this trip will be $55, which includes bus transportation and entrance to the park (water park extra). A sign up and more information is on the table in the entryway. Friends are also invited to come on this trip. Please sign up by May 21.

Thrivent Choice Program On May 8th the Church Thrivent gift for the Window Fund was $863. Thank you to St. Stephen’s members and Thrivent clients who designated St. Stephen’s Church for Choice Dollars.

Women’s Bible Study New studies will begin on May 16, “Building Healthy Relationship” and “The Proverbs 31 Woman – Setting God-Pleasing Goals for Your Life”.  The goal of this series of Bible studies is to allow the world to see God and to experience His love through each of us.  Join us on Wednesday evenings at 6 pm.  Copies of the studies are available in the back of church and at study time.

Twice Is Nice in Jefferson will accept donations of clothing, household items, toys, books, dishes, etc. All these donations help to benefit Lakeside Lutheran High School. You may bring these items to the church office. Volunteers take them to the store. If you would like to shop or volunteer at Twice Is Nice the address is 907 W. Racine St., Jefferson, WI. They are open 9:00am– 5:00pm Monday through Saturday. (920)674-6868

Door Offering Next Week Jane Fraser, daughter of St. Stephen’s members Gerald & Bonnie Wagner, was displaced from her apartment and lost everything in it as a result of the bomb explosion in March.  To help Jane obtain what she needs to get on her own again, we will receive an offering after worship services next weekend.  Our WELS Christian Aid & Relief Committee is willing to match our donations to help Jane.

Reminder: Large print hymnals are available for anyone with vision struggles. They are the white binders on the table in the entry and in the rack in the ramp. You may leave it on your pew or return it to the entry or ramp after the service.

School News

PTS Awards Night will be this next Wednesday night, May 16th at 6pm.  The junior choir will perform and awards will be given for extra curricular activities done throughout the school year.

Piano Recital will be held at the Charleston House on Monday, May 21st at 6pm.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

End of Year Band Concert will be at St. Stephen’s gym on Tuesday, May 22nd at 6pm.  Our schools band will perform along with chimes and the 4th grade class with  their recorders.

Graduation will be held on Friday, May 25th at 6:30pm.
