St. Stephen’s Weekly News: Week of October 6, 2019

Categories: News

Welcome Visitors If you are visiting today, we welcome you in our Risen and Living Savior, Jesus!

  • Please let us know you worshiped with us by signing our guest book in the entryway or a Care Card in your pew and drop it in the offering basket.
  • If visiting, please don’t feel obligated to give an offering. St. Stephen’s members express thankfulness to God through their voluntary offerings which then support the congregation’s work.
  • Introduce yourself to a Pastor, and worship with us again!

Holy Communion will be offered next week in all services. You may register by card at any time.

Bible Studies

  • Women’s Bible Study Group meets on Wednesday nights at 6pm. Copies of the study are available in the church entry and at study time. All women of the congregation are welcome.
  • Men’s Bible Study meets on Sunday nights at 6:30pm in the meeting room above church office. All men are welcomed and encouraged to join.
  • Fall Bible Study “God’s Grace Learned Through Hard Lessons”. This study will be an overview of the book of Numbers. When hard times come, we can easily give up and feel like God is not with us. However, we will see the rich grace of God given to his people even during very difficult times. We will meet Mondays at 7:00pm and Wednesdays at 11:00am.

“Welcome Home” Sunday On October 27, we will be having a special Welcome Home Sunday. Our goal is to have 100% of our members in church on this special day. Please reserve this day on your calendars. We will also be having our 2nd annual Fall Festival on that day. Hope to see all of you there.

New Friends and Lakeside Lutheran Teens for Christ invite students and adults with special needs to campus, giving them a place to hang out and develop friendships. LLHS students, along with our new friends, participate in a variety of activities, including games, crafts, snacks, and music. Our next gathering is Sunday, October 20, from 1 to 3 pm in the west gym at Lakeside. Pre-registration is not needed, but If you know of anyone with special needs who might be interested in attending, or have any questions, please contact Mrs. Ruth Hirschfeld at rhirschf@llhs.org.

Lutheran Explorers Outing On October 13, the Explorers will be hosting a family hiking afternoon at Horicon Marsh. Please meet at the education center along Hwy 28 at 1:30pm. We will enjoy a day of enjoying God’s creation. Remember that Explorers is open to all families! What a wonderful way to enjoy and build up Christian friendships. We plan on being done about 3:30pm.

Health Ministry: Our congregation health ministry team will be available to provide blood pressure and diabetes screening, as well as other health literature this Sunday from 8:30 – 10:30am. in the church basement.

150 Years Proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ!  We are invited to join our Christian brothers and sisters at St. John-Salem Lutheran Church in Lowell as they joyously and thankfully observe the 150th anniversary of the founding of Salem Lutheran and its gospel ministry in Lowell. The celebration service will be Sunday, October 13, 9:30 A.M., with former Pastor Bruce Wietzke delivering the sermon. A meal will follow.  Please RSVP for the meal at salem@stjohnsjuneau.org or 920-386-3313.
