Bible Studies

• Women’s Bible Study Group will not meet this week but will resume on September 11^th at 6pm. Copies of the study are available in the church entry and at study time. All women of the congregation are welcome.
• Men’s Bible Study starts September 8^th and will be meeting Sunday nights at 6:30pm in the meeting room above church office.
• Fall Bible Study starts September 9^th & 11^th “God’s Grace Learned Through Hard Lessons”. This study will be an overview of the book of Numbers. When hard times come, we can easily give up and feel like God is not with us. However, we will see the rich grace of God given to his people even during very difficult times. We will meet Mondays at 7:00pm and Wednesdays at 11:00am.

New School Year The 2019-20 school year began this last Tuesday.

• Open House – classrooms will be open next Sunday, September 8^th from 8:30 am till 10:30 am for all to see room arrangements and what’s ‘new’ for this year.

Public School Catechism / Confirmation Classes

• 7th & 8th Grade Public School Catechism Classes will be conducted together with Good Shepherd. They will meet Wednesdays only, 3:30-4:45pm. Classes begin Wednesday, September 11. Parents will be contacted with details.
• 6th Grade Public School Catechism classes will begin September 11 at 3:30pm-4:10pm

Organization of WELS Lutheran Seniors (OWLS) will get together again Tuesday, September 10 at 12 noon.  We’ll start with a potluck lunch.  Following lunch, Dick Zondag of Jung Seed Co. will have a presentation on Fall Lawn & Garden preparations. He will be happy to answer any of your questions on plants, lawns, etc.  OWLS is for folks 50 years and older, for fellowship, spiritual growth, and learning.  Our group is made up of people from St. Stephen’s, Friedens-Randolph, and St. John’s-Fox Lake.  We’d love to have you join us!

Annual Golf Outing with Good Shepherd will be Saturday, September 14.  Information and sign-up sheet is on the entryway table.

“Welcome Home” Sunday please mark your calendars for October 27, 2019. We are aiming for 100% attendance of our membership this weekend. We will also have our 2nd annual Fall Festival on this day. More information will follow soon.

Sunday School Begins Sunday, September 8th, at 9:00 am. There will be no special registration.  Simply bring your child to the school a few minutes before 9:00 A.M. on the 8th.  We expect all children who do not attend our Christian Day School to be enrolled in Sunday School.  We also have class for preschoolers who will be 4 years old by September 1^st.

St. Stephen’s Ladies Aid will be meeting at 1:30pm on Thursday, September 5^th.  Join us – we would love to see you. Please call Bonnie Wagner at 920-557-1973 or Bev Haas at 920-382-7680 with any questions regarding the Ladies Aid organization.

First Friday Communion: Our brief communion service for those who can “get out” but for whom being at a full service is difficult will be Friday, September 6^th at 1:30pm. in the church.  Please use the ramp or elevator entrance.

St. Stephen’s Scrip Program lets you earn money for St. Stephen’s Lutheran School simply by shopping for everyday items.  Want to sign up or have questions?  Contact Michelle Hemling at scrip@saintstephen.org .

St. Stephen’s PTS will be hosting a movie night on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019 starting at 6:30 p.m.  We will be watching “The Secret Life of Pets 2”.  All are welcome!

At Peace? A Retreat for Women, held at Peace Lutheran in Loves Park, IL will offer their 11^th annual one day retreat Saturday, October 5^th.  This year’s theme is “Salt & Light”.  Keynote speaker will be Katie Martin, author of devotions and articles that point to God’s amazing love.  There will also be five workshops offered.  Check out www.peacelp.com for more info and to register.
